1.Unplug cord from outlet. Lift piercing lever to

verticalposition (5). Hold can opener and ease

cutting assembly out of case. Wash in dishwasher

invertical position. Insert shaft into key hole.

lever clockwise until it is horizontal. If lever

isproperly engaged, it cannot be removed

Cutting mechanism may collect food or paper

from can labels and should be washedfrequently

HOW

TO

SHARPEN

KNIVES

Do not attempt to sharpen hollow ground blades

orthose with serrated edges.

1.Be sure knife is clean and free of grease.

2.Place heel of knife into the guide slot located on

theback of the can opener

. Lightly draw the blade

towards you, applying a slight downward pressure

(6). Repeat this procedure four to fivetimes to put

asharp edge on the knife.

CORD

STORAGE

A cord storage area is located on the back ofthe

unit (7).

Pull out as much cord as required to reach outlet.

Pushexcess cord into cord storage hole located on

theback of the can opener

.

MAINTENANCE

AND

WARRANTY

The motor and internal gears of your can opener unit

are permanently lubricated at the factory for lifetime

service and require no further attention. The cutting

blade is made of hardened steel andwill

last for years

under normal use. Donot

attemptto sharpen.

OPENING

CANS

Plug electrical cord into 120 volt, 60cycle

ACoutlet.

Raise can opener lever to upright position (1).

Insertcan so that the lower edge of the can lip

restson top of the drive wheel. Be certain that the

cutting edge is on the inside of the can lip as shown

(2). Push can opener lever down firmly (3) and hold

until the can lid isautomatically pierced and the

cutting action begins. It is not necessary to hold

thecan opener lever down during the cutting cycle.

When the can is fully open, the cutting action

willautomatically stop. The can will remain in

positionuntil the lever is raised. T

o release the can,

grasp the can firmly in one hand and raise the lever

with the other hand. The magnetic lid holder

willretain the lid (4).

DENTED

CANS

Occasionally

, badly dented cans

willcause the can opener to stall. If

thishappens,

grasp the dented can and guide it through the

cuttingaction manually until the damaged areas

arepassed.

JAMMED

CANS

T

o open a can that has become

jammed, raise the can opener lever andrelease

thecan. Begin the cutting action again in a new

placeon

the can lip.

CLEANING

To insure proper sanitation, all removable parts

onthe can opener should be detached and

cleanedthoroughly in warm, sudsy water at

regularintervals. Before cleaning,

Para reducir el riesgo de descargas eléctricas, este aparato cuenta con una clavija
polarizada (una cuchilla es más ancha que otra). Como medida de seguridad,
esta clavija entra sólo de una manera en un enchufe polarizado. Si la clavija
no encaja en el enchufe simplemente colóquela al revés. Si aún así no encaja
llame a un electricista calificado. De ninguna manera intente modificar esta
medida de seguridad.

CONSERVE ESTAS INSTRUCCIONES

ABRIENDO LATAS

Conecte el cordón eléctrico a una toma de corriente
de 120 voltios, 60 Hz, CA.

Levante la palanca del abrelatas y colóquela en
posición vertical (1). Inserte la lata de manera que
la orilla inferior del borde de la lata descanse sobre
la rueda de corte. Asegúrese de que la orilla de corte
esté en el interior del borde de la lata, tal como se
muestra en la Figura (2). Presione firmemente la
palanca del abrelatas hacia abajo (3) y sosténgala
así hasta que la tapa de la lata sea perforada
automáticamente y comience la acción de corte.
No es necesario sostener la palanca del abrelatas
hacia abajo durante el ciclo de corte.

Cuando la lata esté completamente abierta, la acción
de corte se detendrá automáticamente. La lata
continuará en su lugar hasta que levante la palanca.
Para sacar la lata, tómela firmemente con una mano
y con la otra mano levante la palanca. El soporte
magnético de la tapa detendrá la tapa de la lata (4).

LATAS ABOLLADAS: Ocasionalmente, el abrir latas
que estén muy abolladas, causarán que el abrelatas
se detenga. Si esto pasa, tome la lata abollada y
guíela a través de la acción de corte de manera
manual, hasta que las áreas que están dañadas
sean cortadas. 

LATAS ATORADAS: Para abrir una lata que se
ha atorado, levante la palanca del abrelatas y
libere la lata. Inicie nuevamente la acción de corte
en otro lugar del borde de la lata.

warrants that for a period of one year from the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects

in material and workmanship. Sunbeam, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component

of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will be made with a

operating instructions, disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone other than Sunbeam or an

, the warranty does not cover: Acts of God, such as fire,

flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

What Are the Limits on Sunbeam’s Liability?

Sunbeam shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach

ofany express, implied or statutory warranty or condition. 

Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability

orfitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty
