INSERTING BATTERIES
Toinsertthebatteries,openthebatterydooronthe
undersideoftheheadset.Pul backthesmal tab(towardthe
blackdot)andatthesametimeusefingernailonotherhand
toopenbatterydoor.Thetopendofthebatterydoor(near
tab)shouldopen. Thebottomendofthedoorishingedsodo
notforceit.Insertbatterieswithpositiveendofbothbatteries
pointeduptowardtab.Replacedoor,byagainslidingtabup
toal owdoortofal backintooriginalposition.
CHARGING YOUR HEADSET
Beforeusingyourheadsetyoumustchargethebatteries.We
recommendthatfortheveryfirstchargingtheheadsetbe
al owedtochargeforsix(6)hours.Subsequentchargingwil 
take1-2hours.TheheadsetcanbechargedineithertheON
ortheOFFposition.

Desktop Cradle Charging:PluginoneendofACadapterinto
ACwal outletandplugtheconnectorendintothedesktop
cradle.Inserttheheadsetintothedesktopchargingcradle
makingsurethemetalcontactsontheendoftheheadset
touchthecontactsinthecradle.TheLEDindicatorbythe
ON-OFFswitchwil showcontinuousredwhichindicatesthe
headsetischarging.Whenful ychargedtheLEDindicatorwil 
changetoacontinuousgreencolor.

Charging With AC Adapter: PlugACadapterintotheACwal 
outletandplugtheconnectorendintothebottomendofthe
headset(onthesidewiththeON-OFFswitch).LEDindications
aresameasabove.

Charging With the USB Cable: Youcanchargeyourheadset
byusingthepowerfromyoudesktoporlaptopcomputer.
UsingthesuppliedUSBcableplugtheUSBconnectorendinto

aUSBportonyourcomputerandplugtheotherconnector
endintothebottomoftheheadsetorintothedesktop
chargingcradle.LEDindicationsarethesameasabove.
TURNING ON AND OFF THE HEADSET
Toturnontheheadset,slidetheswitchtotheONposition.
Atonewil signifytheheadsetisbeingturnedon.TheLED
indicatorwil flashgreen.Toturnoff,slidetheswitchtoOFF
position.TheLEDindicatorwil alsoturnoff.
BATTERY LOW INDICATION
TheLEDindicatorwil flashredevery2.5secondswhenthe
batterybecomeslowincharge.Re-chargingisrecommended
atthistime.
PAIRING YOUR HEADSET
Inorderforyourheadsettocommunicatewithyour
Bluetoothenabledphonethetwomustbe“paired”together.
Youshouldconsultyourphone’susermanualonhowtomake
suchapairingasal phonesareslightlydifferent.

Yourheadsetneedstobe“discoverable”bythephone(or
otherBluetoothdevice)sothetwocanbelinkedtogether.
Toputtheheadsetinthediscoverablemode,pushtheTALK
buttonandholdit(foraboutfiveseconds)untiltheLED
indicatorbeginsflashinggreenandredalternatelyandyou
wil alsohearabeeptoneintheearpiece.Thenselectthe
functiononyourphonewhichmakesthephonesearchor
“lookfor”Bluetoothdevices.Thislinkingprocedureshouldbe
explainedinyourphone’susermanual.

Onceithas“found”orlinkedwiththeheadsetthenitis
readytobepaired.Yourmobilephonewil promptyoufor
apassword,PIN,orpairingcode(wordingvariesbyphone
manufacturer).AtthatpointENTER0000.Youwil then
mostlikelybepromptedbythephonewhetheryouwantto
connectwiththeheadset.Afteryourespondaffirmativelyyou
shouldthengetconfirmationthatyourphoneandheadset
are“connected”.TheGE86708headsetisnowinstandby
modeandreadyforuse.TheLEDindicatorwil flashgreen
morerapidlyonceconnected.

Pairing Notes:
•Thisheadsetcanbepairedwithuptoeightphones/devices.

Themostrecentlypairedphonewil beatthetopofthelist.

•WhentheTALKbuttonispressedinstandbymodethe

headsetwil trytoconnecttothemostrecentlypaired
phoneonly.

•TheGE86708canalsobepairedwithotherBluetooth

enableddeviceslikecomputersorvoiceaccessgateway
typeproducts.

TO MAKE CALLS
Youcanmakecal sbyeithera)dialingdirectlyfromyour
phone,b)usingVoiceDialing,orc)usingLastNumberRedial
function.TouseVoiceDialingorLastNumberRedialthese
mustbesupportedbyyourmobilephone.Consultyour
phone’susermanualforphone-specificinstructions.

BeforeusingtheVoiceDialfunctionyoumustfirstsetup
“voicetags”accordingtoyourphone’suser’smanual.To
makeaVoiceDialcal simplypresstheTALKbuttononceto
enableVoiceDialing.Youwil hearacouplelowtonebeeps
tosignifyanattempttoconnect.Tocal usingLastNumber
RedialpresstwicetheTALKbutton.

NOTE: Thisheadsetwil workwithin33-feetor10-metersfrom
thelocationofthephoneorotherBluetoothenableddevice. 
TO END CALLS
Toendacal ,presstheTALKbuttononceafterconversation
hasended. Adoubletonewil sound.
VOLUME CONTROL
PresstheVOLUME+toincreasevolumeandVOLUME–to
decreasevolume.Ashortbeepwil beheardindicatingthat
maximumorminimumvolumelevelisreached.

TO ANSWER AN INCOMING CALL
Toansweranincomingcal ,pressTALKonce. 
Acouplelowtonebeeps(repeateduntilcal isanswered)wil 
signifyanattempttoconnectisbeingmade.Ashorthigher
tonebeepwil signifytheconnectionwassuccessful ymade.
Torejectanincomingcal ,pressandholdtheTALKbuttonfor
abouttwoseconds.
CALL WAITING 
TheCal Waitingfunctiononyourphonewouldneedtobe
turnedonbeforethisfunctioncouldbeused. Notal phones
supportCal Waiting.Toacceptasecondincomingcal and
disconnectthefirstparty,pressTALKoncewhenyouhearthe
beepindicatinganincomingcal .Toacceptthesecondcal er
butplaceonholdthefirstparty,pressandholdthe
TALKbutton.
TRANSFER CALL BACK TO PHONE
