Remove Internal Shipping Materials
Electrolux uses packing foam and tape to secure the internal parts of your refrigerator for shipping. Once
the refrigerator is in position, you can remove this material.
Problems? Try These Suggestions
Operation problems are possible if any of the installation tasks are not completed. Here is a list of things to
check for:

• Istherefrigeratorconnectedtothehouseholdwatersupply?

cabinet system. Be sure to coordinate site preparation and
installationwithyourkitchencontractor.
Includetheseminimumguidelinesinyoursitepreparation:
• Chooseaplacenearagroundedelectricaloutlet.
• Donotuseanextensioncordoranadapterplug.
• Avoiddirectsunlightandcloseproximitytoarange,
dishwasherorotherheatsource.
• Floorshouldbelevelandabletosupportafullyloaded
refrigerator.
• Therefrigerator’sIce&WaterDispenserrequireswater
supply access.
• Planforeasyaccesstocountertopswhenremovingfood.
• Forcompleteaccesstodrawersandfreezerbaskets,
doors must be able to fully open.
Allowthefollowingclearancesforeaseofinstallation,properair
circulation, and plumbing and electrical connections: Sides & Top: 3/8 inch Rear: 1 inch
Bynow,youhavealreadyremovedyourrefrigerator’sshippingcarton.Youmay
stillneedtouseahandtrucktomoveitthroughclosespacesorentrances.Ifthe
refrigeratorislargerthananentrance,considertwooptions:
• Removetheentrancedoorifoneexists.
• Removetherefrigeratordoors(seehowinyourUse&CareGuide).
When using a hand truck:
• Loadrefrigeratorfromsideofcabinetonly.
• Donotrunretainingstrapsoverhandles.
• Donotovertightenretainingstraps.
• Neveruserefrigeratorhandlestomovetherefrigerator.
• Removetapefromdoorsonlyafterunitisinplace.

Shifting the refrigerator from side
to side may damage flooring.

Ifyouareinstallingyourrefrigeratorwithoutconnectingittoawatersupply,
makesuretheicemaker’spowerswitchisturnedOff(seetheUse&Care
Guideformoredetails).
CAUTION
• Shiftingtherefrigeratorfromside
to side may damage flooring.
• Donotblockthetoegrilleon
the lower front of your refriger-
ator. Sufficient air circulation is
essential for proper operation.

Before Installing The Water Supply Line, You Will Need:
• BasicTools:adjustablewrench,flat-bladescrewdriver,
andPhillipsTMscrewdriver
• Accesstoahouseholdcoldwaterlinewithwater
pressurebetween30and100psi.
• Awatersupplylinemadeof¼inch(6mm)OD,copper
orstainlesssteeltubing.Todeterminethelengthof
tubing needed, measure the distance from the ice maker
inlet valve at the back of
the refrigerator to your
coldwaterpipe.Thenadd
approximately7feet(2.1
meters), so the refrigerator
can be moved out for
cleaning(asshown).
• Ashutoffvalvetoconnect
thewatersupplylinetoyour
householdwatersystem.DO
NOTuseaself-piercingtype
shutoff valve.
• Acompressionnut
andferrule(sleeve)for
connectingacopperwater
supply line to the ice maker
inlet valve.
WARNING
To avoid electric shock, which can
cause death or severe personal in-
jury, disconnect the refrigerator from
electrical power before connecting a
water supply line to the refrigerator.
CAUTION
To Avoid Property Damage:
• CopperorStainlessSteelbraidedtubingisrecommended
for the water supply line. Water supply tubing made of
¼ inch (6 mm) plastic is not recommended to be used.
Plastic tubing greatly increases the potential for water
leaks, and the manufacturer will not be responsible for
any damage if plastic tubing is used for the supply line.
• DONOTinstallwatersupplytubinginareaswheretem-
peratures fall below freezing.
• Do not reuse compression fitting or use thread seal tape.
• Chemicalsfromamalfunctioningsoftenercandamagethe
ice maker. If the ice maker is connected to soft water, en-
sure that the softener is maintained and working properly.

1. Disconnectrefrigeratorfromelectricpowersource.
2. Placeendofwatersupplylineintosinkorbucket.
TurnONwatersupplyandflushsupplylineuntil
waterisclear.TurnOFFwatersupplyatshutoff
valve.
3. Removeplasticcapfromwatervalveinletand
discard cap.
4. Ifyouusecoppertubing-Slidebrasscompression
nut,thenferrule(sleeve)ontowatersupplyline.
Pushwatersupplylineintowatervalveinletasfar
asitwil go(¼inch/6.4mm).Slideferrule(sleeve)
intovalveinletandfingertightencompressionnut
ontovalve.Tightenanotherhalfturnwithawrench;
DONOTovertighten.SeeFigure1.
Ifyouusestainlesssteeltubing-Thenutandfer-
rulearealreadyassembledonthetubing.Slidecompressionnutontovalveinletandfingertightencompression
nutontovalve.Tightenanotherhalfturnwithawrench;DONOTovertighten.SeeFigure2.
5. Withsteelclampandscrew,securewatersupplyline(coppertubingonly)torearpanelofrefrigeratorasshown.
6. Coilexcesswatersupplyline(coppertubingonly),about2½turns,behindrefrigeratorasshownandarrange
coilssotheydonotvibrateorwearagainstanyothersurface.
7. TurnONwatersupplyatshutoffvalveandtightenanyconnectionsthatleak.
8. Reconnectrefrigeratortoelectricalpowersource.
9. Toturnicemakeron,lowerwiresignalarm(sidemounted)orsettheicemaker’sOn/Offpowerswitchtothe“I”
position(rearmounted).
Ifpossible,useahandtrucktopositiontherefrigeratordirectlyinfrontofitscabinet
enclosure.
Becarefulnottomovetherefrigeratorbeyonditswatersupply(coppertubing)
connections.
Pluginthepowercord,andpushtherefrigeratorstraightbackintoplace.
To install toe grille
1 Openbothdoors. Slideleftandrightsidesoftoegril eoverlowerhingesofrefrigerator.
2 Whilepushingtoegril efirmlyagainstcabinet,fastenbottomclipsof
toe gril e to cabinet.
3 Fasten top clips to cabinet.
4 Closethedoors. Ontheleftandtherightside,pul outwardandthen
upwardonthetoegril euntilthetriangletabisrestingonthetopedge
of the hinge and the edge clip snaps into the hinge pocket on the back
of the hinge.
To remove toe grille
1 Withbothdoorsclosed,unfastenrightandleftsideclipsoftoegril e
from bottom hinge groove.
2 Openbothdoors. Pressfirmlyontopoftoegril euntiltopoftoegril e
pops off.
3 Pul toegril eoutwardtowardsyourbodyandoffoflowerhinges.
NOTE:Leveltheunitwiththeadjustablerol ersbeforelevelingthedoors.
To level the doors using the adjustable lower hinge (some models):
1 Beforelevelingeitherdoor,removesetscrewthatlocksdoorheightintoposition. (The
doorcannotbeadjustedwithoutsetscrewremoved.)
2 Iftherefrigeratordoorislowerthanthefreezerdoor,raisetherefrigeratordoorbyturn-
ingtheadjustmentscrewcounterclockwiseusinga7/16inchwrench.(Seeil ustration.)
3 Ifthefreezerdoorislowerthantherefrigeratordoor,raisethefreezerdoorbyturning
theadjustmentscrewcounterclockwiseusinga7/16inchwrench.(Seeil ustration.)
4 Afterleveling,verifydoorstopcontactslowerhingeandtopofdoordoes
notcontactupperhingethroughful movementofdoor(fromful yclosedto
ful y open).
5 Replacethetoegril ebyfittingitintoplace.
