Thank you for choosing this De’Longhi coffee
machine. To get the best result out of your new
coffee machine please read these instructions
carefully before use.  This should ensure opti-
mum results and maximum safety.

SAFETY WARNINGS

• This appliance is designed and made to "prepa-

re coffee".  Be careful to avoid being scalded by

spraying water or steam or due to improper use

of the appliance.

• This appliance is intended for domestic use only.

Any other use is considered improper and thus

dangerous.

• The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for

any damage caused through incorrect, wrong or

unreasonable use.

• When using the appliance, do not touch the hot

surfaces. Use the knobs or handles.

• Never touch the appliance with wet or damp

hands or feet.

• In the event of failure or malfunction, unplug the

appliance from the mains. If it requires repair,

contact De'Longhi customer services or a service

center authorised by the manifacturer and ask

for original spare parts to be used. Failure to

respect the above could reduce the safety of the

appliance.

• The power cable must never be replaced by the

user as this requires the use of special tools. If

the cable is damaged or requires replacing,

contact De'Longhi customer services only to

avoid all risks.

• Do not allow the appliance to be used by per-

sons (including children) with psychological,

physical or sensory impairments or with inade-

quate experience or knowledge, unless closely

supervised and instructed by someone responsi-

ble for their safety.

Children must be supervised to ensure they do

not play with the appliance.

• After unpacking, make sure that the machine

is complete and undamaged. In case of doubt,

do not use the appliance and seek the advice

of a qualified service professional.

•  Packaging materials (plastic bags, foam poly-

styrene, etc.) should not be left within the

reach of children as this could be a potential

source of danger.

•  Never immerse the appliance in water.

• When the appliance is not in use, turn off and

disconnect the plug from the socket.

• As with any electrical appliance, whilst the

instructions aim to cover as many eventualities

as possible, caution and common sense should

be applied when operating your appliance,

particularly in the vicinity of young children.

• The appliance is designed and produced for

domestic use only. It is not suitable for use in:

- staff kitchens in shops, offices and other

workplaces,

- farm houses,

- hotels, motels or other holiday accommoda

tion,

- guest houses.

• Materials and accessories coming into contact

with food conform to EEC regulation No.

1935/2004.

A)  If your appliance comes fitted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13

Amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off
from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted, as below.
WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after remo-
ving the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the
house as this could cause a shock hazard.
With alternative plugs not incorporating a fuse, the circuit must
be protected by a 15 Amp fuse.
If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be re-fitted
when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to
BS 1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT
be used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your
nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correct replacement
fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug.

B)

If your appliance is not fitted with a plug, please follow the
instructions provided below:

IMPORTANT

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the fol-
lowing code:

Green and yellow:

Earth

Blue:

Neutral

Brown:

Live

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead  may not correspond with
the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed
as follows:
The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the
plug marked with the letter E or the earth symbol 

or coloured

green or green and yellow.
The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the let-
ter N or coloured black.
The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the let-
ter L or coloured red.
